2016 AOTY Recap

Congratulations to the 2016 NAKA Angler of the Year Greg Massa!

With a strong finish to the season, Greg completed the NAKA Trail at the top of the heap of NAKA’S and and took home the title and the spoils.

Greg will be paddling some new plastic in the swamps of North Alabama as he is the new owner of a NuCanoe Pursuit courtesy of Nucanoe and Riverside Fly Shop. Brandon and his team graciously allowed NAKA to take possession of the Pursuit at the beginning of the season and carry it to our demo days and tournaments to show off and demo. We cant thank them enough for their support.

He will be paddling in style and comfort with his choice in length of Angler Ace from Bending Branches and Andrew Stern. These guys are the best in the business and great partners in NAKA and kayak fishing worldwide.

Staying on a good spot should become a whole lot easier for Greg with the help of his new Power-Pole® Shallow Water Anchor. A great tool from a great company. Many thanks to Power-Pole for their investment in Kayak Anglers.

Greg will have some amazing opportunities to trick out his new yak with the help of YakAttack and their generous support. These guys are the absolute industry leaders in kayak fishing accessories and can make any angler more productive.

We cant thank Academy Sports + Outdoors enough for their continued support of our club and its AOTY. Greg will able to go on quite the shopping spree to fill up his new boat with the help of Academy.

Finally, 412 Bait Co by Donald Corbett has hooked Greg up with his choice of baits that are sure to help him continue to compete with the best anglers out there. A dedicated kayak angler himself, Don is one of the very best people in the industry and deserves the loyal following his baits have earned.

Congratulations again to Greg and to all the anglers that competed so well over the course of the NAKA Trail.

Thank you to all the partners who make it happen and support the kayak anglers in North Alabama and across the country.
